Landlocked Salmon, Salmo salar morpha sebago
The Landlocked Salmon is a subspecies of Atlantic Salmon that does not migrate between fresh and saltwater. This variation is thought to have originated in Sebago Lake, Maine which was formerly beneath the ocean. After the sea level retreated, the fish were trapped in the lake and developed into a freshwater form.
